Matt Ryan played a significant role in the Boston Celtics beating the Milwaukee Bucks, 111-109, in a Monday night Summer League game.

Not only did the former Chattanooga Mocs score a team-high 23 points, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 25 minutes of action, but he also knocked down the game-winning triple with half a second left on the game clock.

After hitting the clutch bucket, Thomas reflected on his journey to this point with reporters as they asked what it meant to hit the shot and see his hard work pay off like it has/

“It’s pretty emotional,” Ryan said holding back tears. “It’s been a crazy 11 months. I was home for a year and a half and then — I don’t know if you guys heard my story but I was driving Door Dash a year ago and to be here, to be part of the Boston Celtics it’s special. It’s special.”

Ryan and the Celtics return to action on Tuesday with a rematch of the Finals against the Golden State Warriors at 9 P.M. EST.
