Joe Ingles Set to Return as Soon as Monday When Milwaukee Plays New Orleans

In the 2021-22 season, then-Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles went down with a catastrophic left ACL injury.

In only 45 games, the Australian averaged 7.2 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.9 rebounds on 40.4 percent shooting. When Ingles became a free agent during the offseason, the Milwaukee Bucks signed him to a one-year deal. Now, the veteran is set to make his debut for Milwaukee and return on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing almost a year of action. His Bucks (20-8) are currently second in the Eastern Conference.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Ingles still has to complete a 5-on-5 workout on Saturday to ensure he is ready to be back on the court. The 35-year-old has already participated in practices with the Bucks’ G League affiliate for the past couple of weeks.

There’s still concern about what version Milwaukee will be getting when Ingles returns to the court. He has not played in a game since January, and recovering from an ACL injury can be quite the challenge.

The Bucks will play the Utah Jazz next Saturday at 8 PM.
