Magic Officially Sign Moritz Wagner On Two-Year Minimum Deal

Former first-found pick Moritz Wagner was signed last season as a free agent by the Orlando Magic in late April. With just a few weeks left in the season, he played in 11 games (10 starts) with the Magic and played the best basketball of his career.

Through these 11 games in Orlando, Wagner produced 11.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc.

On Monday, the Magic announced that they had officially re-signed Wagner, who was a free agent, on a two-year deal.

While terms of the deal weren’t disclosed by the team, Keith Smith of Spotrac has reported that Wagner’s contract is for two years at the veteran minimum with the second season being non-guaranteed.

For Wagner, this gives him the opportunity to play with his younger brother Franz Wagner, who Orlando drafted in the lottery of the 2021 NBA Draft.

As the Magic continue their rebuild, they keep finding ways to add valuable young prospects to their roster.
