Marvin Bagley III Out Six Weeks After Successful Hand Surgery

The Detroit Pistons announced Marvin Bagley III would miss the next six weeks of action after he underwent successful surgery to repair a third and fourth metacarpals fracture in his right hand. He suffered the injury during Detroit’s 135-106 loss to Portland.

The Pistons acquired Bagley at the trade deadline last season and signed him to a three-year deal over the summer.

Marvin Bagley III will reportedly miss an indefinite amount of time after suffering an undisclosed right-hand injury, per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Woj reported that Bagley would undergo further testing to determine his next steps to return to the team. Bagley is averaging 10.7 points and 5.9 rebounds on 53.7 percent shooting for a Detroit team already without Cade Cunningham, who suffered a shin injury that ultimately needed season-ending surgery to repair.
