Masai Ujiri Agrees to Become Vice Chairman of the Toronto Raptors

Masai Ujiri, the mastermind behind the Toronto Raptors’ 2019 NBA Championship and the Kawhi Leonard trade, has agreed to new deal with the organization, becoming vice chairman and president of the Raptors, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

Previously, Ujiri served strictly as the president of the organization.

After winning NBA Executive of the Year during the 2012-13 season with the Denver Nuggets, Ujiri became general manager and president of the Raptors and has since been one of the most effective and successful executives in the League.

Landing Kawhi in the 2018 offseason catapulted Ujiri as one of the most sought-after executives in all of professional sports.

Ujiri will continue on as the Raptors top basketball and business executive while also maintaining his global philanthropic reach through his Giants of Africa initiative, sources said.

“On the court, our goal is clear: Win. It’s simple: Win. Bring another championship to Toronto,” Ujiri said in a Twitter video released by the Raptors on Thursday.
