As had been expected, the Phoenix Suns finalized a two-year, $4 million deal with Slovenian shooting guard Zoran Dragic.
The 25-year old younger brother of Suns guard Goran Dragic, confirmed that he’s joining the Suns. The agreement will reportedly pay $1 million to Unicaja Malaga to release Dragic from his Spanish League contract; the Suns are on the hook for $600,000 of that amount.

“We have reached a two-year agreement with the Suns” said Zoran Dragic. “I am realizing that a new career is starting for me. I am impatient and full of optimism. Over the year in Europe I have proved I can play against the best players. After the National Team I will play again with my brother, I look forward to it. The first year will not be easy because you have to adjust to a new life, a new training and style of playing. I want to thank Malaga who gave me a chance to play in Euroleague. They have been very correct and I never hide to the them my transfer to the NBA”
Slovenian shooting guard Zoran Dragic and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth slightly more than $4 million, according to NBA front-office sources.
During the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Zoran Dragic averaged 14.1 points in 26.3 minutes per game on 50 percent shooting from the field and 43.3 percent shooting from 3-point range. The 6-foot-5 emerged as an NBA prospect as a hard-nosed player and tough defender who, though presumably not quite big enough to slide over to small forward in the States, can be effective at the top level at both ends.
