Post Up: Suns Take Commanding Series Lead Over Bucks

Game 2 of the NBA Finals took place on Thursday night, with the Phoenix Suns taking a commanding lead over the Milwaukee Bucks. While they’ve pulled ahead to a 2-0 series lead, it wasn’t an easy win to get there.

We broke down Game 2 of the 2021 NBA Finals here.

No. 2 Suns 118, No. 3 Bucks 108

The Bucks got out to an early lead as the Suns trailed by as many as nine points in the first half, but after a 20-point swing Phoenix led by 11 at halftime. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a huge 20-point third quarter, doing a lot of his damage at the free throw line. That set a record for most points in a Finals quarter in the last 25 seasons. However, it only brought Milwaukee one point closer, still down ten heading into the fourth. During a competitive fourth quarter, Phoenix held onto the lead to take the 2-0 series lead.

Antetokounmpo finished with 42 points and 12 rebounds but didn’t get enough help from his teammates. On the flip side, the Suns had plenty of contributors, led by Devin Booker’s 31 points, six assists and five boards. Chris Paul scored 23 points to go along with eight assists while Mikal Bridges produced 27 points. Game 3 will take place in Milwaukee on Sunday.
