REPORT: Lakers Claim Veteran Guard Avery Bradley Off Waivers

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, veteran guard Avery Bradley has been scooped up off waivers by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last season, Bradley spent time with the Miami Heat before being traded to the Houston Rockets, averaging 6.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists between the two teams over the course of 27 games.

The 30-year-old signed with the Golden State Warriors in the offseason before being waived on Oct. 16, just two days before both teams’ season opener. Bradley would only play eight minutes in the loss but stood out with his defense and shooting (2-3 from 3-point range).

Bradley has had a previous stint with the Lakers (2019-20), averaging 8.6 points per game and shooting 44.4 percent from three. However, Bradley opted out of the NBA bubble because of health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team went on to win the champion that season.

He now becomes the three Lakers from the 2019-20 championship season to rejoin the franchise (Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo).
