REPORT: Nuggets In Works To Sign DeMarcus Cousins To 10-Day Contract

After being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks this week, it seems that DeMarcus Cousins is already on the move to another team. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported this weekend that the Denver Nuggets plan on shoring up their frontline by signing the veteran center to a 10-day contract.

Cousins had a very productive, albeit short, run with the Milwaukee Bucks. In the 17 games Boogie played with the club, he averaged 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game. His release from the team was considered a business decision to open up a roster spot before the trade deadline. According to insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Bucks GM Jon Horst had some glowing comments about Cousins and his contributions while on the roster.

Injuries have derailed the big man’s career since being traded from the Sacramento Kings. After tearing his Achilles in New Orleans, he missed the entire 2019-20 season and a chance to play with the title-winning Los Angeles Lakers after tearing his ACL in the offseason. Since then, Cousins has played sparingly with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Bucks, as mentioned above.

If he passes a physical and finishes the testing process, he will be reuniting with his old coach from Sacramento, Mike Malone, on Tuesday when Denver takes on the Los Angeles Clippers.
