Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Out For Start of Training Camp Due to Knee Injury

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has reportedly suffered a Grade 2 left MCL sprain that’ll force him to miss the start of training camp, according to the OKC Thunder.

SGA led Team Canada to 8-0 record while playing at the FIBA World Cup Qualifier. Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 24.5 points, 50 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game before sitting out the rest of the season due to an ankle injury. The 24-year-old point guard was the cover athlete for SLAM Canada 1.

Oklahoma starts training camp on Sept. 27 and begins the regular-season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
