Tyler Herro Says He’s ‘Excited’ for Offseason

After a stunning rookie season, Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro struggled at times in his sophomore campaign.

In an interview with Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Herro said the current offseason would be crucial and exciting for him.

“I think this summer is a huge summer for me. I’m excited,” Herro said. “It’s my first real offseason where I’m able to focus on different things that I want to work on.

After playing a key role in getting the Heat to the NBA Finals in 2020, Herro found himself coming off the bench in his second season. Although Herro played a reserve role, only starting 15 games all season, he still found ways to score, putting up 15.1 points per game.

Herro is currently spending time with Team USA’s Select Team, which practices with the Team USA Olympic team during their lead-up to the Olympics. Herro later went on to detail the exciting experience to Chiang.

“I’ll be able to really just see where I’m at and where I need to be,” Herro said. “I’m excited to just be able to take this whole week and just focus on basketball and continue to show myself and continue to get better.”
