Yi Jianlian Will Carry China’s Flag at the Olympic Games

Joining Pau Gasol of Spain, Yi Jianlian will be the second NBA player to carry his country’s flag the Olympics’ opening ceremonies in London this Friday. The immortal Eazy Yi will be China’s official flag bearer, per Shanghai Daily (via BDL): “Chinese basketball player Yi Jianlian is busy with his first training session after arriving in London. He has been chosen as China’s flag-bearer for the opening ceremony of London Olympics, which will be unveiled on July 27. China has the tradition of choosing basketball players as flag-bearers for the Olympic Games opening ceremony. Former NBA star Yao Ming was the flag-bearer of the Chinese sports delegation at both Beijing 2008 and Athens 2004.”
