Amar’e: ‘Nobody’s Afraid of the Miami Heat’

Aside from the star power he brings, the statistical production he provides, and the magnetic personality he embodies, Amar’e Stoudemire‘s greatest contribution to the reborn Knicks may be an injection of confidence.

STAT believes in his ability and that of his team to a degree no one was prepared for prior to this season. So far, that faith has been validated through New York’s success on the court.

As they prepare to face the Miami Heat at MSG tonight, in a big nationally-televised matchup, Stoudemire wants everyone to know that there’s absolutely nothing to fear.

From the NY Post:

“We all like big stages, so it’s nothing special,” Amar’e Stoudemire said after yesterday’s practice in Westchester. “Nobody’s afraid of the Miami Heat. We’re gonna play as hard as we can and see what we can do.”

They may not be afraid, but the Knicks will have revenge on their minds — Miami has beaten them twice so far this season, including a laugher on NY’s home floor in December.

As Miami will be without the injured Chris Bosh, Amar’e and the Knicks have reason to like their chances tonight.
