Philadelphia Sixers to Shut Down Andrew Bynum for 3 Weeks

There was talk out of Philly about center Andrew Bynum feeling great following an offseason knee procedure in Germany, but now the team is being extra careful with their new big fella and his knees. (We don’t think this has anything to do with Andrew Bynum’s new hairstyle.) Reports the Philly Inquirer: “The 76ers announced Monday that center Andrew Bynum will not participate in basketball activities for the next three weeks to ‘maximize the therapeutic effects’ of the non-invasive procedure he underwent on his knees last month. Bynum said that he ‘felt some discomfort’ on his knees — both of which received Orkathine therapy — and that the team had decided that rest, as a precautionary measure, was required. Bynum was examined by team physician Jack McPhilemy and was also diagnosed with a bone bruise to his right knee.”
