Post Up: Carmelo Receives Warm Welcome in NYC, Scores Season-High 26

Trail Blazers 93 (14-21), Knicks 117 (10-24)

Carmelo Anthony scored a season-high 26 points on 11-for-17 shooting in his return to Madison Square Garden, but the rest of the Trail Blazers shot just 33.8 percent from the field as the Knicks won their third straight game.

Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson each scored 22 apiece to lead New York. Frank Ntilikina (9 points, 10 assists, 2 blocks) had a team-best +23 plus-minus in 23 minutes off the bench.

Timberwolves 104 (12-20), Bucks 106 (30-5)

Giannis Antetokounmpo continued to do MVP things, racking up 32 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks for Milwaukee.

The Timberwolves were without Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, but double-digit points from four players off the bench kept things close as they took the NBA’s winningest team the distance.

Shabazz Napier scored a team-high 22 for Minnesota.

Magic 122 (15-19), Wizards 101 (10-23)

DJ Augustin scored 25 off the bench and Markelle Fultz racked up 16 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and two steals as Orlando outscored the Wizards in each period.

Bradley Beal scored a game-high 27 in his return to the lineup.

Suns 107 (13-21), Lakers 117 (27-7)

It took some time to see LeBron James and Anthony Davis finally team up, but it was worth the wait. James had a 31-point triple-double and Davis added 26 points and 11 boards in Los Angeles’ first game of the decade.

The Lakers led by as many as 36 after a 43-point first quarter, but their bench unit struggled as Devin Booker (32 points, 7 assists) and Kelly Oubre (26 points, 3 steals) led the comeback charge that fell short.
