Chris Mullin Beats Sacramento Kings in Three-Point Contest (VIDEO)

The Sacramento Kings recently hired Chris Mullin to work in their front-office, as an advisor to the chairman. After showing off his still-deadly touch from the perimeter, perhaps Mullin should moonlight as the Kings’ shooting coach. Per Cowbell Kingdom: “Following practice (Thursday), the Sacramento Kings entertained a large crowd of students at UC Santa Barbara, putting on a 3-point contest featuring Mullin, DeMarcus Cousins, Jimmer Fredette, and rookie Ben McLemore. The new advisor to the chairman stole the show in the shootout, which also featured a pair of UCSB students, going a near perfect 14-of-15 from beyond the arc. Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé came up with the idea before the end of the team’s morning practice yesterday and followed through with the plan after receiving head coach Michael Malone’s blessing. In the end, Cousins won the contest by being the first to sink a half-court shot in round two. But it was Mullin, who was introduced as ‘Vinny, a 16th year senior majoring in aeronautics’, that wowed the crowd inside the Pavilion Gym. It should be no surprise that Mullin’s stroke has not escaped him despite 12 years in retirement. Known as an offensive force from the perimeter, the 50-year-old hall of famer shot an incredible 50.9 percent from the field in his 15-year career.”
