Diddy Confirms The Notorious B.I.G.’s ‘I Got a Story to Tell’ Was About Anthony Mason (AUDIO)

Last week, Fat Joe dropped something of a bombshell when he revealed that The Notorious B.I.G.’s “I Got a Story to Tell” was about the late Anthony Mason. The Bronx, N.Y. rapper later apologized for outing Mason as the victim, but the story hasn’t died as Diddy also confirmed that “I Got a Story to Tell” was about the former Knick.

“That story is true. I can confirm that with love,” the hip-hop mogul told Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club.

Mason’s old teammate Charles Oakley was not enthused to see his friend’s name dragged through the mud and told TMZ that Fat Joe disrespected the dead.

“I think it’s … disrespectful,” said Oak. “I know Fat Joe, nice guy, but I played with Mason and I always got his back. Biggie ain’t here to tell the real truth. Definitely disrespectful, you don’t talk about a guy after he’s deceased.”

TMZ also tracked down the “Lean Back” rapper and asked him about Oakley’s comments and once again apologized.

“I love Charles Oakley. I worship him. I worship Anthony Mason. Anyone who took it as disrespect, I’m sorry.”
