JR Smith, Tyreke Evans Play at Dyckman Park (VIDEO)

by September 04, 2012

By now, Dyckman Park in New York City is amongst the most well-known basketball playgrounds in the country. During the lockout, it was a hub for NBA players to come practice, and show off, their elite skills. Kevin Durant, Michael Beasley, Kemba Walker, Brandon Jennings and a plethora of overs have made an appearance at Dyckman in recent months. As announcer Joe Pope always says, “Where else would you rather be??”

Well, it seems that NBA guards JR Smith and Tyreke Evans have caught on to the hype, too. In the above clip—from a few weeks ago during a double-overtime playoff game—Smith converts an off-the-backboard dunk, followed Evans answering with a smooth 360 reverse layup, followed by the crowd going absolutely bonkers. It doesn’t mean much at all, but still, it’s fun to see NBA guys showing out in local grassroots games.
