Kevin Durant Drops 40 Points on the Denver Nuggets (VIDEO)

For the 43rd time in his career, Kevin Durant reached the 40-point mark, as he led the OKC Thunder to a 124-114 road win Monday night against the Denver Nuggets.

KD erupted in the second quarter , scoring 16 points in under three minutes of action.

The Nuggets knew it was all over then.

Per the Denver Post:

“That’s the great thing about having a star on your team,” the Nuggets’ Wilson Chandler said.

All of the reasons the Nuggets are working on getting back in the “star” business were in a 6-foot-11 display during the Thunder’s 124-114 win over the Nuggets on Monday night. Clutch shooting. Scoring no matter if the play was executed well or broke down. Buckets to stop the opponent’s run.

“What do you do?” Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. “A guy pulls up and he’s taking a 25-foot jump shot with a hand up. Any other time, that’s what you want to happen. But he’s good. There’s a reason why he’s been the MVP.”
