Mark Cuban Says Doc Rivers’ Career Was ‘Over’ Had DeAndre Jordan Left

October 29 would be a good date to mark in your calendar, since that’s the first time the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks will meet this upcoming season since L’Affaire D’Andre.

Clippers head coach and team president Doc Rivers and Mavs owner Mark Cuban continue to take shots at one another through the media—Rivers has gleefully admitted that he loves to tweak the billionaire.

Cuban claims that had Jordan bolted for Dallas this summer, Rivers’ career would have basically been over.

Per Fox Sports (via the OC Register):

Cuban was asked about the comments made by Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, who said on “The Herd” earlier this month that Cuban “acted very silly” during the DeAndre Jordan free agency situation.

“First of all, he obviously didn’t actually hear or see what I said because I didn’t say a whole lot,” Cuban retorted Tuesday. “I think I responded to [Jordan’s] Twitter apology, and that’s pretty much it.” […] Then Cuban went on the offensive.

“It shows you what someone will do when their entire future is vanishing in front of them,” Cuban said of Rivers. “And that’s exactly what Doc did and I give him credit for it. His professional life was over if he didn’t get [Jordan].”
