Monta Ellis Hits a Wild Game-Winning Three to Beat Houston (VIDEO)

The Milwaukee Bucks knew they got away with one, as they raced off the floor after Monta Ellis tossed in an absurd, running three to beat the Houston Rockets. Per the Journal Sentinel: “I thought I gave it to him too late,’ Brandon Jennings said. ‘I didn’t have anything so I just kicked it out to him. He hit a one-legged three-point shot for the win.’ Ellis’ remarkable shot gave the Bucks a 110-107 victory over Houston on Wednesday night at the Toyota Center. And it came after Ersan Ilyasova and Ellis grabbed offensive rebounds to allow the Bucks to take the last shot. And it certainly was a doozy. The shot circled the rim and nearly popped out before settling through the net, a buzzer-beater that sent the Bucks players running off the court in celebration. ‘It worked out just perfect,’ Bucks coach Jim Boylan said with a grin in his post-game conference with reporters. ‘That’s exactly the way I drew it up, from beginning to end.’ […] Ellis’ shot capped his big night as he finished with 27 points,13 assists, six rebounds and six steals while playing all but 3 minutes of the game. ‘I was ready for it the whole time,’ Ellis said of the final moments. ‘Even if we didn’t get a shot off we were going to overtime. I didn’t want to go into overtime. I was kind of winded.’ Ellis also spent a good share of his night bumping and defending the much bigger Rockets shooting guard James Harden, who had 25 points but also seven turnovers.”
