WATCH: LeBron James Takes Selfie With Young Fans During Game

During the Cleveland Cavaliers’ trip to Cincinnati for a Wednesday night preseason tilt against the Atlanta Hawks, a group of kids in the stands talked LeBron James into taking a selfie with them before he checked back into the game.

LeBron also invited another youngster to sit on the Cavs’ bench next to him, which proved to be the thrill of a lifetime for her.

James finished with eight points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in 22 minutes of action in the 98-96 loss, and says he was happy to playfully interact with the fans.

The Cintas Center hit its capacity of 10,250. It was most certainly a pro-Cleveland atmosphere with yellow “We are Cavaliers” T-shirts draped on most of the fans. The game was the franchise’s way of acknowledging fans across the state. […] “They see us on television. They don’t get to see us live,” James said. “A place like here and obviously Ohio State is always a favorite of mine and other cities that we’ve been to and I’ve been to in my career. It’s a treat for the fans here at Xavier to get an opportunity to watch us live.”

 

“I just noticed her, that’s all,” James said. “I just noticed her. She actually told me I met her when she was 10-years old, I believe she’s 13 now and I gave her my shoes. So, I guess I noticed her back then as well.”

 

James explained the selfie as him “just being cordial with the fans. […] “Like I said, these guys (in Cincinnati) don’t get an opportunity to see us all the time so it just popped in my head,” he said.
