Russell Westbrook scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and handed out 11 assists Monday night for his seventh triple-double of the season.
Enes Kanter joked that the Turkish food Russell Westbrook ate last night should be credited for his triple-double.

The OKC Thunder dropped the visiting Washington Wizards 114-98—Kevin Durant scored a game-high 28 points, and added nine boards.
OKC is now riding a four-game winning streak.

So without his typical height and speed advantage on Monday night, Westbrook went to the power game. On three of the Thunder’s first four possessions, Westbrook cleared a side of the floor, isolated on (John) Wall and bullied right through him and the soft Washington help defenders. […] “He’s a strong point guard,” Enes Kanter said of Westbrook. “He’s, probably, well he is the strongest point guard in the league.”
The first post-up came on the Thunder’s second offensive series. It was a scripted play by coach Billy Donovan. Westbrook gave it up at the top of the key, wrapped around the baseline with the help of a Serge Ibaka screen and got the ball back near the right block from about 15 feet out as everyone else scattered to the left side of the floor, leaving Wall on an unenviable island. […] Westbrook set himself, took a hard dribble into Wall’s chest to bump him backward and created space for his turnaround 10-foot bank shot. It’s the same shot he routinely practices pregame against the defense of assistant coach Royal Ivey, the same move he crafted in recent offseasons studying the tape of Andre Miller and Kobe Bryant.
“Every summer I work more and more,” Westbrook said of his post game. “Different reads, different things. Not just scoring, but passing the basketball as well.” […] “He’s a great post player,” Wall said. “He’s a great basketball player period. Heck of a talent.”
