Detroit Pistons to Reportedly Sign Josh Harrellson

“Jorts” is headed to Motown, Yahoo! Sports reports. The Detroit Pistons have reached a two-year agreement with free agent forward Josh Harrellson: “Harrellson, 24, will hold a partial salary guarantee for the 2013-14 season, and the Pistons will hold the team option for the 2014-15 season, a source said. The Pistons are likely done making moves heading into training camp, with GM Joe Dumars reaching 15 roster spots with the signing of Harrellson. Detroit has remade its roster with two high-profile deals, signing forward Josh Smith and acquiring point guard Brandon Jennings in a sign-and-trade deal. Harrellson, who is 6-foot-10 and nicknamed ‘Jorts,’ was the MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association with 22 points and 18 rebounds per game last season. Before playing six games for the Miami Heat in 2012, Harrellson spent a full season with the New York Knicks, where he had played 37 games and averaged 14.6 minutes and 4.4 points per game.”
