Draftstreet’s $500 SLAMonline Fantasy Freeroll Starts Tonight

We told you about the second one-night fantasy basketball league challenge of the season from Draftstreet.com, giving away $500 in free prizes exclusively to SLAMonline readers. The one-night contest will go down tonight—so be sure to set your lineup and submit before tonight’s games tip off. The contest is free to enter (yes, FREE!) and multiple winners will take home cash, so get set on the details and enter now.

The free contest is salary-cap style drafting, where everyone tries to assemble the best team out of the available players. You will have a $100,000 budget to build a team of 3 forwards, 3 guards, a centers, and a utility player. Each NBA player has been assigned a price based on their expected fantasy performance—you’ll have to use your GM skills, since you won’t be able to afford an All-Star at every position. You can adjust your roster up until the contest starts tonight, November 15 at 7:00pm ET at which time your rosters will lock and the Live Scoreboard will be available.

Check out the team I’m rocking with this week:

This week, I took a different strategy. First, I added LeBron, because, well, he’s LeBron. Next, I jumped to the bottom of the player pool, searching for bargains, knowing that it would free up money for me if I could find some gems at cheap prices. Hence my guards this week—Stephenson and the Green Bros. Tony Wroten, the cheapest guy on my roster, might end up being the best value as my utility player if he plays anything like he did in his first career start the other night, when he dropped a triple-double.

Click here to enter the freeroll! And let me know who you guys are picking tonight. Good luck—you’ll need it.
