When Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors came to Boston to face the Celtics on Friday, fans cascaded Durant with boos during pregame introductions and when he touched the ball on the Warriors’ first possession.

The boos, while not unexpected from Boston’s raucously loyal fans, did not rub Durant’s teammate, Draymond Green, the right way.

After the Warriors’ 104-88 win, Green criticized Celtics fans for their treatment of KD, saying that the booing was “desperate” and they “may scare free agents away.”

More from the Mercury News:

The boos, loud early, had dissipated late, as if the fans realized, if anything, they were only fueling Durant.

“Fans must be desperate,” Draymond Green said. “Boo someone for taking a (free agent) interview? That’s crazy. I don’t get that. Y’all boo someone for interviewing with y’all? They may scare free agents away. They may want to be careful with that.”

Said Durant: “No hard feelings. I still have love for Boston.”
