Report: Warriors Worried Draymond Green Will Be Suspended for Game 5

by June 12, 2016

Draymond Green has been tiptoeing the line between clean and dirty play throughout the 2016 Playoffs and it may come back to haunt the Golden State Warriors as they look to close out the Cavs on Monday night.

During Friday night’s win, Green got into it with LeBron James after the superstar stepped over Dray as Green fell to the court. While LeBron stood over him, it appeared that Green tried to take a swing at James below the belt. He wasn’t issued a Flagrant foul at the time, but the league is reportedly reviewing the play.

In the Western Conference Semifinals, Draymond was given a Flagrant 2 foul after he kicked Thunder center Steven Adams right where it hurts. The Flagrant 2 decision left Green with no wiggle room as his next Flagrant foul would lead to a one game suspension. According to The Undefeated‘s Marc Spears, the Warriors are concerned that they will be without the potential Finals MVP for Game 5 as the NBA’s decision looms.

Green addressed the scuffle with LeBron in a diary entry with The Undefeated:

[James] stepped over me and I felt like that was disrespectful. I don’t disrespect you on the court. Don’t disrespect me. There’s no love lost. It is what it is. It’s a battle out there. I’m going to battle with whoever it is.

We had our words. I said what I had to say and he said what he had to say. Move on. I’m not going to sit there and argue with him. I know what position I’m in, in terms of double techs and stuff. Just move on from it.
