Help Get NBA Pioneer Earl Lloyd on a Stamp

The Earl Lloyd Foundation is requesting the United States Postal Service, Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee issue a Commemorative Stamp with the Hall of Famer’s image on it in honor of his passing this February.

Lloyd was the first African-American to play in an NBA game in 1950, when he laced up for the Washington Capitols. In 1955, as a player for the Syracuse Nationals, Lloyd become the first African-American to win an NBA Championship. He also worked as a scout and coach of the Detroit Pistons in 1972, becoming a groundbreaking pioneer throughout his whole career.
