Jose Calderon: Knicks Will ‘Win More Than 17 Games’ This Season

After an atrocious 17-65 season, Knicks fans are eager to see how their revamped roster will perform when the bright lights are on. With new additions Arron Afflalo, Robin Lopez, Kyle O’Quinn, Derrick Williams, Kevin Seraphin, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jerian Grant, things can’t possibly get worse, right?

Well, at least point guard Jose Calderon is confident that his squad is headed in the right direction.

Per the NY Post:

With the new faces team president Phil Jackson netted during free agency, Calderon said he believes the Knicks will be watchable again.

“I really like it,’’ Calderon told The Post. “Everyone was expecting a star, but we got good guys who know how to play. I knew the type of players we wanted.’’

The highlights of Jackson’s haul included defensive center Robin Lopez and shooting guard Arron Afflalo. The Knicks signed power forwards Derrick Williams and Kyle O’Quinn while drafting 7-foot-3 Kristaps Porzingis and potential starting backcourt mate Jerian Grant.

“A lot of bad things happened last year,’’ Calderon said. “We’ll win more than 17 games and we’ll try to win every game. I’m real excited we can do great things, but talking about the playoffs, it’s too early. You don’t talk playoffs a few weeks before training camp.’’
