It’s time for Cavs fans to exhale. James reports that his ‘bow survived a physical practice, and that he should be ready to go tonight in Boston. From the Akron Beacon Journal: “LeBron James appeared upbeat after Thursday afternoon’s practice at the Cleveland Clinic Courts, primarily because his wounded appendage responded to rest with the long break between games. When last heard from, James was fielding questions about his injured elbow and a Game 2 loss against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The loss is behind him, but the injury is not. ‘It didn’t flare up today at all,’ James said. ‘We had contact drills and I was able to go through them all, full contact, all practice and it didn’t flare up once.’ It’s the type of injury that is only helped by rest, and the four days off between Game 2 and tonight’s Game 3 in Boston have given him plenty of it. He also regularly ices it and keeps it elevated. The elbow responded well enough that a second MRI scheduled for this week was deemed medically unnecessary. But that doesn’t mean it won’t cause him any more discomfort. James will still have to contend with it and play through it. He’s honest about how he feels about the prospect. ”It [stinks], but it’s part of the game,’ he said.”
