Mike James, Will Conroy to Play in China

While Steve Francis’ deal with a Chinese team hangs in limbo, two other americans have signed on to play overseas. From our good friend at NIUBBall.com: “35 year-old guard Mike James has officially signed a one-year $100,000 contract with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, according to Sina Sports.  The news comes as somewhat a suprise as James had been in China playing pre-season for another club, Foshan, the past week.  However, Foshan, who is in their first inaugural season after moving from Shaanxi, ultimately decided that signing an ex-NBA player and the expensive price tag that comes attached was not worth the investment for a club that will probably finish towards the bottom of the league…  Zhejiang also signed former New Jersey Nets center Josh Boone to a contract in October… In northeast China, the Liaoning Panpan Hunters officially signed Will Conroy to a deal.  Liaoning was the only CBA team to have both of its import spots still open.  Liaoning finished fifth last year with a 21-11 record, losing to Shanghai in the playoffs.”
