Marc Gasol is one of the biggest free agents available this summer. And while he’s expected by most to re-sign in Memphis, teams like the Lakers are still interested in his services, and will make their pitches to the All-Star center.
But according to a report, Gasol has “no interest” in joining the Lakers, apparently because of the way the team treated his older brother Pau his last couple years in LA.
Here’s the nugget from Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times—you should read the whole article, which also mentions other options for the Lakers, like LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love and Greg Monroe:
Marc Gasol has no interest in the Lakers because of the uneasy last few years his brother spent with them, according to numerous people familiar with the situation. Versatile big man Greg Monroe, oft-injured Brook Lopez and his workman-like brother, Robin, are other alternatives at center.
