Russell Westbrook: Stephen Curry ‘Not Nothing I Haven’t Seen’

by May 16, 2016

The highly-anticipated Western Conference Finals kick off tonight in Oakland, and Russell Westbrook knows exactly what awaits him.

Westbrook doesn’t anticipate any surprises from Stephen Curry; Russ knows the back-to-back MVP is going to be looking for his shot, and the OKC Thunder have a plan to make Curry a driver.

The Golden State Warriors beat OKC in all three regular season matchups.

Per the Bay Area News Group:

Westbrook praised the Warriors’ guard Monday as a tough shot-maker and creator before comparing him to another point guard who is different to guard. […] “He’s a shooter,” Westbrook said of Curry. “He’s not nothing I haven’t seen. Him, (Damian) Lillard, guys like that who can shoot the basketball from four or five feet behind the three (point line), you’ve got to do a little different job defensively.”

Curry has averaged 35 points in the Warriors’ three wins against the Thunder this season, including a buzzer-beating 37-footer in overtime on Feb. 27.

Curry has delivered two more clutch performances since returning from a sprained right knee, but has said he is not 100 percent. Westbrook said he wasn’t sure about Curry being 100 percent. […] “If he’s playing, I’m pretty sure,” Westbrook said. “He’s able to play, so I’m pretty sure he feels good about himself.”
