Timberwolves Use Socks to Promote Andrew Wiggins for Rookie of the Year

It’s extremely unlikely that anyone other than Andrew Wiggins will win the Rookie of the Year award this season, but just to be safe, the Minnesota Timberwolves sent a bunch of socks to the voting press.

The explosive 20-year old swingman, picked first overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, has put up 16.7 points, grabbed 4.4 rebounds and dished out 1.9 assists in 78 games.

Other candidates for the ROY include Nerlens Noel and Nikola Mirotic.

Per the Pioneer Press:

The packaging reads: “Dynamic rookie Andrew Wiggins has knocked your socks off all season long with his standout numbers and electrifying moves. Here’s a fresh pair on us.” The black-and-blue socks feature a picture of Wiggins dunking.

There’s also a letter to voters from Flip Saunders and a card highlighting Wiggins’ statistics and rank among rookies in key categories.

At (16.7) points per game, Wiggins leads all rookies by a wide margin. He’s also the runaway leader in minutes played at 35.8 per game and was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month four consecutive times.
