UConn Lands Top 2011 Recruit DeAndre Daniels

Although Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun has yet to make an official announcement on whether he’ll be returning next season, and while rumors circulate all over the internet, that didn’t stop the top remaining unsigned recruit for the 2011 class to commit to the program. DeAndre Daniels, a blue-chipper who had yet to announce where he would be taking his talents to in the fall, officially announced his commitment to the Huskies program on Tuesday through a statement by his school IMG Academy. The 6-7 skilled forward was initially a member of the 2010 class before reclassifying and had verbally committed to Texas in July of 2009 before de-committing in August of 2010. Daniels chose Uconn over Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, and others that were recruiting him.
