Russell Westbrook Drops 43 Points in Loss to Bulls (VIDEO)

OKC Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook’s triple-double streak came to an end at four Thursday night in Chicago, as he “only” finished with 43 points, 8 rebounds and 7 dimes.

Westbrook’s Thunder fell victim to E’Twaun Moore and the Chicago Bulls 108-105.

Russ is the first player in franchise history to register three consecutive 40-point games.

Per The Oklahoman:

“I just wanted to try to win the games, man,” Westbrook said, shifting his feet slightly in the blue bucket resting on the floor. “My job is not to try to come out and try to play for triple-doubles. My job is to come out and try to do whatever it takes to help us win games and that’s what I do every night.”

Westbrook had his way with the Bulls defense through three quarters, scoring 36 points on 12 of 23 shooting with five rebounds and seven assists. But he had a nightmarish fourth quarter in which he scored seven points on 2-for-9 shooting and ultimately struggled to provide a quality play at either end when it mattered most.

“Honestly, man, I’m happy the way we played as a team throughout three quarters,” Westbrook said. “I think as a unit we can learn from some of the mistakes toward the end of the games.”
