From the Orlando Sentinel: “Orlando Magic forward Matt Barnes said he was simply going for a loose ball when he hit Kevin Garnett in the back midway through the third quarter in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals Saturday night. Barnes banged into Garnett as Garnett sprinted toward the sideline to corral the basketball. Garnett then flew into Magic coach Stan Van Gundy, who fell back and onto a courtside chair on the Magic bench with 7:50 remaining in the third quarter and Boston ahead 56-38. ‘We were both going for the ball,’ Barnes said in the Magic locker room after the game.”
