Ray Allen was awful in the series opener against the Bulls, shooting a ghastly 8.3 percent from the field. For the Celtics to even up the series, Ray-Ray had to play a hell of a lot better last night. And boy, did he ever.

Overcoming Ben Gordon’s heroic 42 points in Game 2, Allen put the C’s on his back (30 points, 9/18 shooting), and sent everyone to Chicago all tied up — and he did it with his trademark quick-release three:
