UPDATE: To no surprise, Stoudemire’s highly-questionable tech has been rescinded by the NBA, and he’ll play on Sunday: “League took away Amar’e’s tech and he will be allowed to play on Sunday. Still one away from a suspension at 15.”

STAT got tagged with his 16th tech on the season last night during a loss, and will be forced to sit out the Knicks’ next game. From the NY Post: “Knicks star forward Amar’e Stoudemire picked up his 16th technical foul in the second quarter tonight vs. the Mavericks, making him eligible to be suspended from Sunday’s Garden game vs. the Pacers if it is not rescinded. Stoudemire got entangled with Dallas’ Brendan Haywood and wrestled himself free, pushing him lightly. Stoudemire and Haywood both received double technicals, but because Stoudemire hit the magic number, he will be suspended one game if the NBA does not rescind it.”
