Ben Wallace Will Reportedly Return to the Detroit Pistons

Despite repeatedly claiming that he was ready to retire from the NBA, it’s starting to look as though Ben Wallace will hang around for at least one more season. Reports the Detroit News: “A source close to the situation says that ‘it’s a pretty good chance’ Ben Wallace will return to the Pistons for another season. Wallace, who will turn 38 in September, has been wanted back by the organization since the drafting of Andre Drummond. ‘Me and Ben talk every other day,’ Pistons President Joe Dumars said recently, while intimating he would give Wallace until the opening of training camp to make a decision. Apparently he didn’t wait that long. Wallace is a four-time Defensive Player of the Year and anchored the Pistons title run in 2004. He told many close to him in the final weeks of the 2011-12 regular season he was ready to walk away, although many of his teammates thought he would consider returning.”
