Jason Smith has agreed to a one-year contract worth $4.5 million with the Orlando Magic, according to a RealGM report.

The former Colorado State Ram averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds last year with New York and will help strengthen Orlando’s frontcourt. Smith was a first-round pick by the Miami Heat in 2007, stopping in Philadelphia and New Orleans before his most recent stint in New York. Smith shot a career-high 35.7 percent from three-point range last season with the Knicks.

From RealGM:

Free agent center Jason Smith has agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Orlando Magic, a league source told RealGM.

Smith, 29, averaged eight points and nearly four rebounds per game in 82 contests for the New York Knicks last season

A rugged seven-footer with a deft outside shot, Smith gives the Magic the depth that they’ve searched for in free agency this summer.
