Oklahomans are certainly ready. In under a month, more than 16,000 people in the newest NBA town have already put in a request for season tickets.

The team that the good folks of Oklahoma City will be cheering for has yet to officially decide upon a name, but one seems to be on the verge of winning out. From the KOCO-TV website:

A source close to the NBA ownership group tells SportsXtra’s Mark Rodgers the city’s franchise, formerly known as the Seattle Supersonics, will be called the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As the linked article points out, the owners of the former Sonics have even snatched up the domain names for anything even remotely associated with Oklahoma City Thunder, so it appears as though this will be the team’s name.

So, do you like the name, hate it, indifferent? Or better yet, have you got any alternatives? Give it a go in the comments, and as always, try and keep it clean.
