Toronto Raptors Unveil Four New Uniforms

With the help of the team’s global ambassador, the rapper Drake, the Toronto Raptors intro’d four new jerseys for the upcoming season Monday.

The threads, which were crafted in partnership with NBA 2K16, are said to pay tribute to the city of Toronto and will be worn at the start of the 2015 preseason.

Drizzy rocked a Cory Joseph joint at his OVOFest concert last night.

From the Toronto Sun:

It was only fitting that Drake, Toronto’s cultural icon and Raptors global ambassador introduced the world to one of the new Raptor jerseys at his OVO Fest concert. […] After all, Drake was involved to some degree in the team’s rebrand, which includes one colour scheme featuring his OVO black and gold colours, which he was wearing, with free agent signee Cory Joseph’s new No. 6 on it.

All that remained was to reveal an actual new-look Raptors jersey, which Drake did by taking the stage late in his set Monday, after he had brought out Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

The team said the font was inspired by the wildly successful We the North campaign, which was created by the Sid Lee ad agency which also was in charge of the redesign. […] Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant, the 2014 NBA MVP, who will become an unrestricted free agent next season and will be courted by the Raptors, was in attendance wearing a Blue Jays David Price jersey.
