Pics Of The LeBron VIII

LBJ’s Miami themed kicks.

by Chris O’Leary/@olearychris

Since we shared pics of the Kobe VI with you last week, it’s only fitting that we do the same for Mamba’s adversary on the other side of the League.

Pics of LeBron’s Miami-colored Air Max LeBron VIII are up at Foot Locker’s site.

The black/red/gold makeup goes on sale on Oct. 26, the same day that the Heat open their season in Boston against the Celtics. Also on a smaller amount of store shelves that day will be the LBJ VIII China Moon (white/red) colorway, which could serve as a home sneak for LBJ when the Heat have their home opener on the 29th against Orlando.

The concept of the VIII is a carryover from the LeBron VII, but there seems to be less Flywire in the shoe this time around. What kind of an impression does LeBron’s shoe make on you guys? Do you think his sneakers will be a tougher sell this year, since he’s turned so many fans this summer?

These r ok…i still find it weird that they’re still usin the 23 on the logo but w/e

About as gorgeous as a Greg Oden foldout.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

They’re ok…if you like to hoop in boots with Flywire and a heel-to-toe air bubble.

Why create your own shoe when you can just rip parts off of Jordan’s? I like the thought process.

    They look ok to me….

  • JTaylor21

Ant and BCraw y’all dudes comedians, it’s a good looking shoe. I don’t know about the rest of you non ballers but I’ll ball in them.

  • BG

they are nothin special in looks but I guarantee they are comfortable like no other! I’d wear just for pure comfort and great ankle support.

@JTaylor21: Bron’s shoes are too heavy. At least for me. I’m a guard, I need something a lot lighter. I usually hoop in Zoom MVP’s (Steve Nash) or *gasp* Kobe’s. I know you hate those guys, but those are by far the best to play in, IMO, and my personal faves next to the “Hyper” series with the exception of the Hypermax which are as heavy as the LeBron’s.

    Co-sign on Bryan.

You literally have to weigh as much as Lebron to feel the benefit on full length Max Air. Otherwise your foot feels numb especially in the forefoot. His Solider IV’s would be a better choice to hoop in.

It also looks like a worse progression of the VII. It looks like Kobe’s new one is an evolution of the V. But at least the Kobe is one of the best shoes I’ve ever balled in.

  • Blackphantom

    I like those

Those are the old prototypes–Foot Locker’s bad. The new versions have LeBron’s signature on the back and the lion’s head on the rubber outsole–not the former LBJ23 logo.

    …Unless Nike made a last-minute change.

  • JTaylor21

BCrawford, everyone is different that’s why bron’s shoes fit me perfectly bcuz I’m a SF while a smaller guard like you prefers kobe’s and nash’s shoes. I played in the kobe 5 and came close to twisting my ankle real bad 4 times.

  • the nerve

nunna yall n*ggas pla no damn ball lol. dunk on all yall

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

@JTaylor21: Body size/type definitely make a difference. I remember when shoes really didn’t cater to the differences in players. It was just one shoe for everybody. Now guys have options which is cool.

What time is it? School must be out…

  • JTaylor21

HAAA HAAAAA that had me rolling on the floor.

  • Michael

i have never really liked the look of lebrons shoes, but they have always felt awesome to wear.

I like some of LeBron’s main line for just casual use. I agree that they’re too bulky for us lighter, guard types. Though I’m a big fan of the Zoom Soldier III. They were light and comfortable.

  • str8 from samoa

YEA THEY NEED TO CHANGE HIS LOGO MAN

  • ripslam

LOL they’re still using the 23 logo. And these shoes are ugly as shiz.

  • Ronald

Hmm, I’m suprised that these have the old logo still. How are these shoes supposedly Jordans “inspired”?. Considering that there have been 25(?) Jordans similaries are inevitable but I don’t see much Jordan in these shoes. They don’t look half bad either, especially in other colourways. The colour blocking doesn’t imho do the shoe justice.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

I’ve been sayin this in other kicks related posts, Soldier III’s are one of the best shoes to ball around. One of few Lebron’s that can cater from PG’s to PF’s and even some light C’s. I own a pair of AMLVII, its not that bad, support on impact and great comfort are some of its strengths. And its not too stiff or too soft unlike other max cushionings. But im not too high on its ankle support.

  • http://slamonline.com nikehead23

    kinda weak

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

At least there’s a degree of originality to these; even though last years were good, they bit off of the Jordan 11′s to the point of no return. I would be considered a guard… But I can do work in Sacouneys. Sneakers never meant much to me either way.

  • Mike from Spain

I am quite heavy for my height (6ft 1, 174 pounds) and I like to have shoes with a good cushion. I guess it is some sort of placebo thing, because here there are some who say that you have to weigh a lot to be able to benefit from the extra cushioning a full air sole provides. I got the Hyperdunk 2010s because I saw them at a good price and I liked the forefoot cushioning… maybe there are better choices for a small guy like me? I am all ears

  • jufu

    ball in these and i’m a guard…maybe its the 5’5 152 pound frame…

  • PHX

Hmmm I like the viis better.. These seem like they were made for a center I couldn’t do anything with these besid rocke em out or something.
