Air Jordan III Returns

And the Bordeaux VII is on its way.

by Chris O’Leary/@olearychris

A long wait will end for a lot of sneakerheads this weekend when the Air Jordan III retro white/cement makes its way back into stores.

It’s not just the heads who know how big this release is, too. Foot Action will be hosting midnight release events in three different U.S. locations Friday night, with the shoes being the big finale to a brief event that features a DJ, raffles and prizes.

If you’re in NYC, Birmingham or Decatur (near Atlanta) Georgia and are hoping to pick up a legendary shoe in the Air Jordan line, check the events out.

FootAction Jordan III Event NYCWhile we’re talking Jordan Brand, pics surfaced yesterday of the still-to-be-released Air Jordan VII Bordeaux. I went into detail on this release way back in the summer in the 2010 KICKS issue. Air Jordan fans have waited a full 19 years for this colorway of the Air Jordan VII to make its return. That wait has given the shoe supreme grail status among JB fanatics and could make it one of the biggest releases the brand has done to date.

A few of the pics are below, courtesy of Marrqueesole. What do you think of them and which shoe is more important to you? The Air Jordan VII or the upcoming white/cement III?

The Bordeaux means more to me because of the Magic Johnson comeback All Star game, MJ pretending to play D and Magic swishing 3×3. Weirdly, I remember watching that game in so much clarity but can’t remember what I was doing this morning?

Magic at that all-star game was one of my first really good memories of the NBA. Don’t feel bad, Matt. I can’t remember what I ate for dinner last night. And I still can’t.

Air Jordam VII, one of the best looking sneakers ever. Dunno about comfort, though. That thing hurt my ankles after games.

Chicago stadium 1988 dunk contest is all I think of when I see those.
