Slamadaday: LeBron James on Jermaine O’Neal

J.O. got K.G.’d.

No words justly describe this dunk better than these: “LEBON JAMES, WITH NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE!” (via BDL)

    Saw it live. Stupendous.

  • Zee! Posted: Mar.3 at 2:10 pm
    Way to exhaust your vocab.

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.3 at 2:11 pm
Live…..like you were AT the game Ben?

  • michael Posted: Mar.3 at 2:18 pm
    NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mike Posted: Mar.3 at 2:28 pm
    it wasn’t really THAT good.

  • Justin Walsh Posted: Mar.3 at 2:33 pm
Ben is a huge Bron fan. I imagine our fearless leader travels for every Cavs game in person. (sarcasm on the traveling.)

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.3 at 2:35 pm
I don’t know Walsh……he could have been trying to escape the cold.

  • Justin Walsh Posted: Mar.3 at 2:36 pm
    fair enough Eboy, fair enough.

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Mar.3 at 2:37 pm
I wish. I just meant I was watching the game on LeaguePass as it happened (sometimes I have bad luck with that stuff).

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.3 at 2:40 pm
Sorry, Ben. It was great live. I’ve picked solid games this year to go down to (Lakers, Cavs, Knicks). I’ve been lucky.

  • MR Posted: Mar.3 at 2:44 pm
Brian Windhorst, the Cavs beat writer for the Plain Dealer, said: “I am not sure whether the dunk LeBron had with 47 seconds left translated to television. It was one of the most vicious throwdowns I have ever seen in person. He got so much momentum going when he turned the corner and his adrenaline was pumping so intensely that I think his head got above the rim. There was a dunk in Philly a couple years ago that was close and a dunk in Charlotte during his second season when he got crazy high off the ground that seem to relate to me. Plus his slam over Rasheed Wallace in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007 that I believe was the turning point in the series.”

    travel (maybe)

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Mar.3 at 2:52 pm
Well done, Eboy, and thanks for the excerpt, MR. I’m guessing my reaction would have been similar to Windy’s.

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Mar.3 at 2:58 pm
Single-covering LeBron in the final minute with the game on the line is not the best way to stop the Cavs.

  • Justin Walsh Posted: Mar.3 at 2:59 pm
Ryne Nelson is evolving into Captain Obvious. :)

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.3 at 3:08 pm
Again, I have to give very small credit to Jermanine O’verated for jumping. No one attempts to block superstars anymore, for fear of what may happen to them…

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Mar.3 at 3:20 pm
Spaceship… You forget T2′s absolute annihilation of James when he crab walked and attempted a dunk in Chicago last month.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.3 at 3:29 pm
Oh yeah Ryne, your right. Well; I’ll say that very few go for the block. And Wade is an absolute beast.

  • BETCATS Posted: Mar.3 at 3:30 pm
@ Jermaine O’Neal: (Nelson Mutz voice) HAW HAW (Nelson Mutz voice)

  • Doc Funk Posted: Mar.3 at 3:36 pm
It bothers me that a player who got 9 blocks against the Lakers a month ago gets absolutely destroyed like this. Props to LeBron. I respect a man that can kill you with a basketball.

    LATIKA!

  • Jake Appleman Posted: Mar.3 at 3:40 pm
    O SAYA

  • jmak2228 Posted: Mar.3 at 3:40 pm
that dunk LeBron had with 47 sec left was like 5 on 1 coverage. the mans a BEAST!

  • Jake Appleman Posted: Mar.3 at 3:41 pm

    3-EB

  • k.o. Posted: Mar.3 at 3:43 pm
JO was still collecting himself to jump while Bron was finishing the slam. i dunno if this is a testament to Bron’s athleticism or JO’s lack thereof…

  • stu Posted: Mar.3 at 3:54 pm
I do not get it? maybe it’s You Tube but it was nothing special. With the byline I was expecting a dunk the calibar of Kemp on Gatling, KJ on Hakeem, MJ on Ewing. I feel misled.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.3 at 4:13 pm
That’s because people rarely go for the block on dunks. These days if someone jumps moderatley close to someone dunking, they’ve been ferociously slammed on. Hey, its part of the game.

  • Anton Posted: Mar.3 at 4:29 pm
There’s an earthquake in Miami, Florida!!!

  • ab_40 Posted: Mar.3 at 5:20 pm
to comment on what brian windhorst said… no it didn’t translate good on television or a computer screen… you had to be there I guess cuz maybe it’s the angle but it doesn’t look THAT amazing to me.
And seriously the whole nba top 5 all miami cleveland? 4 real all those other games had not one great play? James and Wade are great players but I’m glad the fans don’t pick all the games cuz it would hurt to watch these guys every night

  • MeloMan13 Posted: Mar.3 at 6:24 pm
    OVERATED… the dunk i mean

  • Witness Posted: Mar.3 at 7:02 pm
why would let they let somebody who isnt even human play basketball in the nba? its unfair.

  • Arek Posted: Mar.3 at 11:44 pm
loll at how overrated this was.. i was expecting something soo sick after reading the comments and the caption.. the watch the dunk.. there wasnt even contact

  • Hursty Posted: Mar.4 at 2:42 am
I would’ve preferred to see any of Wade or James’s dunks from that game, they both had 3 or 4 really good ones…
This by itself wasn’t that good. Compilation would’ve been better is what I’m saying.

  • tizzle Posted: Mar.4 at 5:16 am
As usual lebron getting way too much credit, this was nice but there has been a lot of better poster dunks this year, tracy mcgrady on T2 comes to mind…

  • tizzle Posted: Mar.4 at 5:21 am
Just to clarify..LBJ as player does not get too much credit, hes incredibly good, but his dunks are sooo over rated, if he goes in the dunk contest he’ll probably win but he wont deserve it, hes no where near creative enough and can only go off one foot which limits what he can do. it will be all off the back board dunks like in the all star game and probably a free throw line dunk of some sort.

  • [...] averted; now, if only this could stop him from getting hammered on so much: “O’Neal, 30, was not allowed to wear a headband in his first four games with [...]

  • Cizzo Posted: Mar.4 at 11:52 am
    Went and got him!!!!!!!

  • Anthony Posted: Mar.4 at 3:28 pm
“but his dunks are sooo over rated, if he goes in the dunk contest he’ll probably win but he wont deserve it” SOUNDS LIKE NATE ROBINSON TO ME! LeBron dunks are usually highlight reel quality.

  • ThaRussian Posted: Mar.6 at 9:26 pm
this game was crazy… so was JO for even thinking he had any shot at all of blocking that
