Video: Get Dunked On By Patrick Chewing

Learn to speak Snacklish.

As reported in last week’s NYT, Snickers is unveiling a new ad campaign centered around a new “language” called Snacklish. The candy giant is starting with a boom with this highly effective 15-second spot featuring the center formerly known as Patrick Ewing — now Patrick Chewing, when translated into the playful candy vocab. Chewing’s unkempt hightop wig and the too-tight jersey are the gems of this money commercial. Enjoy!

Celtics = 3 Muskateers, Dirk = Cadbury’s Flake, Iverson = Skor, Rasheed Wallace = Cadbury’s Time Out, and the Clippers = Reese’s pieces of turds.
I think we got something here, fellas.

  • Kozmic Posted: Mar.11 at 5:22 pm
Ryan looked like Chewing when MJ aka Butterfinger slammed it straight to his face… But Pat is awesome..

  • davidR Posted: Mar.11 at 5:32 pm
strangely, when the backboard explodes, i feel like i want a snickers.

  • Bostwik Posted: Mar.11 at 5:40 pm
Strangely, when Chewing is dunking he seems to have lost 50 pounds midair and regained them when he landed. But funny as heck though. I laughed so hard when I saw it the first time.

  • Tuomas Posted: Mar.11 at 5:49 pm
Did it look THAT bad when Ewing actually dunked? Funny ad though.

  • Nima Zarrabi Posted: Mar.11 at 6:51 pm
What is up with Pat’s hair? Hopefully that is not how he’s rocking his hair these days. He surely made enough scrilla to afford a decent barber.

  • vmcb Posted: Mar.11 at 6:59 pm
    AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

  • Jason Clinkscales Posted: Mar.11 at 8:15 pm
I’m so happy right now. This was just great.

  • clapzilla Posted: Mar.11 at 8:16 pm
When I Saw This On TV Last Night Chewing’s Voice Was All Goofy. I Guess Now That I Hear It Again It Sorta Sounds Like Him. I Could’ve Sworn His Voice Was Deeper Though. If He Can Bust Backboards Like That Then We Gotta Get Him In The Dunk Contest!

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Mar.11 at 9:04 pm

“copywriting genius, brilliant!!” Hope you’re kidding. I guarantee this is the idea the copywriter hated most and threw together at the last minute. It’s horrific.
