  In speaking to one of the SLAM writers a few minutes ago…I said to him that Bron barely jumps on the attempt. He said he didn’t expect anyone to try and crush one on him. I think it’s pretty obvious that Lebron made little attempt to play the dunk and Jordan made a great play at the rim. It’s really way less exciting than I thought it was going to be.

  Lebron is foolish for pulling the tape. If this were released after it happened with little fanfare, most bball heads wouldn’t have really cared much for it. A nice dunk, but nothing epic, at least from that angle. “He got a big egoooooo”, maybe B was talking about Lebron instead of Jigga’s lips.

  Least it’s out. Teaches nike a lesson, stick to making gear, not playing media mogul. In a mental context, probably been better if it didnt come out, I had it pictured so much better but ah well. ‘Bron got caught off guard in a scrim, pathetic it got held back so long. Still I hope it brought him at least a bit closer to the reality of our planet. Still… props to crawford for seeing the oppurtunity and the audacity to do it on the queen at his own camp.

  @the kids saying that LEbron didn’t jump(yeah, it’s you Eboy): Lebron’s elbow is at rim level(check the second video).This is not Lebron’s peak BUT you cannot get your peak standing steal under the basket (whoever has played the game above the rim knows what i am saying).Bottom line: Lebron gave his best(maybe his “summer-league physical condition” best but the same can also be said for the college guy) to block the dunk but he just failed.NO BIG DEAL.GET OVER IT. All the great defenders are getting dunked on and that is because they actually really try to make block shots even when out of position. You think Ewing, Mutombo and Alonzo are at all those dunk-posters cause they were easy to get dunked on…?? (O.K maybe Shawn Bradley was…) By the way: this was a really good dunk.

  I just think it’s silly how this was handled, on hindsight and in light of how pedestrian that dunk was. It’s not like Lebron got beat off the dribble or destroyed one-on-one. I don’t think the issue of whether he tried/jumped matters, either. He was the help defender, and he jumped, and got dunked on. Nothing in that tape shows that he was a bad defender or anything that is worth being ashamed of. Zo and Yao and Mutombo and Ewing get dunked on all the time too, but this detracts nothing from how good they are. Big bloody deal. Horrible PR move. It’s not like this was VC on Frederick effing Weis. Good grief.

  @Prison Mike In college my teammates and I came up with these rules: If you jump and try to block it, you were dunked on. If you try and take a charge, and you get Liptoned (or Snappelled) you were dunked on If someone jumps over your back on a rebound tip dunk, you were dunked on If you are under 6’4″ and the player who dunks on you is 6’8″ and above it does not count because that person is supposed to do that. If you are over 6’4″ and get dunked on by anyone 6’7.9″ and below it counts. If you are over 6’8″ and get dunked on by anyone under 6’0″ you must leave the court.

  The only reason it was ever a big deal is how eveyone has made Lebron out to be a basketball god.If he stands the test of time then he may be one of the best of all time.Of course he is going to look great on a team like the cavs no one on there can hold a candle to him.Put him on a team full of stars and see how good he really is.I guess my problem with him is the man has no class,and people need to stop this Kobe Lebron debate he hasnt even come close to Kobe yet.
