Video: Michael Jordan Still Has It

While we could do without the “Where Amazing Happens” soundtrack and slow-mo replays during the final minute of the footage, it’s always nice to see Greatness on the court (and talkin’, of course). Sorry Chris “The Ghetto Bird” Young, but the 46-year-old just left you grounded:

Someone tell Jordan his jeans haven’t been in style since he was on the Bulls…the first time.

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Aug.17 at 9:32 am
Yeah, um, no comment on those pants.

SIGN HIM TO AN NBA CONTRACT DAMNIT

  • Z Posted: Aug.17 at 9:40 am
MJ has always been a terrible dresser. Don’t even get me started on that freaking hoop earring.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Aug.17 at 9:54 am
MJ to Jordan clothing designers; “Bath robes. I want all my clothing to feel like bath robes. If it doesn’t feel like a bath robe, I don’t want it caressing my body”.

  • Ed The Sports Fan Posted: Aug.17 at 10:12 am
Man he dress like a 46 year old, not 26. MJ gonna be slightly off with the dress but he still fly. I ain’t gonna lie tho, I wanna go work on my fadeaway right now… -Ed.

Forget the clothes dude still got it. You know when you were given a God given talent because it never goes away no matter how old you get. MJ was bred to play basketball. And it’s harder to go up against young cats when you’re up in age or older than them because you have to keep pace. I’d put my money on MJ today to go against the guys now in the league on pure fade aways and perimeter game.

  • larrylegend Posted: Aug.17 at 11:21 am
who cares about stylish pants, if you rich as mj…? you have to care about style, when you ain’t rich.

  • David Curran Posted: Aug.17 at 11:31 am
Yeah … He can wear whatever he wants

  • Logues Posted: Aug.17 at 11:36 am
he could still play in the nba

  • BETCATS Posted: Aug.17 at 11:42 am
that goal looks short. Mike still ‘has it’ on 8 and a half feet..

  • Fat Lever Posted: Aug.17 at 11:47 am
His footwork is still on point. For a right handed shooter, that fadeaway away from the baseline is tough unless you have good footwork. MJ should pull a Julio Franco and play professionally well into his 40′s.

  • Michael Posted: Aug.17 at 12:04 pm
This Michael Jordan fella is alright. I’ve seen better players back in the 1990s.

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Aug.17 at 12:11 pm
Kobe has blocked that shot many times.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Aug.17 at 12:19 pm

  • BETCATS Posted: Aug.17 at 12:20 pm

  • Kevin Mitchell Posted: Aug.17 at 12:42 pm
Wait a second… the greatest to ever play the game is demonstrating one of his greatest moves ever… and as a hooper you notice his jeans?!!! Wow! No one compares to MJ. His physical gifts, mental game and mental intimidation couldn’t be and won’t be matched by anyone in the league again.

  • Allenp Posted: Aug.17 at 12:49 pm
Just cause y’all young folks like your jeans to caress your nuts, doesn’t mean MJ is jumping on the skinny jeans train.
    And I don’t blame him.

  • Bryan Posted: Aug.17 at 12:54 pm
What’s wrong with his jeans? I don’t get it.

  • Jukai Posted: Aug.17 at 12:57 pm
    First off
    it’s Jordan
You know Jordan wants to outperform every god damn kid that comes to his camp
So he puts on Jeans that wont limit the motion of his legs even a half a percent
That’s why he’s wearing those humongous baggy things.
I used to rock those back in the day. I had pants that looked like bell bottoms. Ahhh white suburbia copying urban styles.

Though I’m not a Jordan fan gotta laugh at Jordan fading away hitting it on this young cat. Plus not to mention demonstrating Real talk its not hating stating Jordan can’t dress. He never has had any style. Just fact. What he does have is skills and will always have skills unless he happens to get seriously ill.He definitely still has it

  • Roy Posted: Aug.17 at 1:58 pm
Money still has some game left in him… :D

We talkin bout jeans? We’re looking at the best player ever at age 46, and we talking bout jeans?

  • RedRum Posted: Aug.17 at 2:48 pm
I bet you there is no nba player right now who can make 10 fade-aways in a row. That is what practice does, he must have hit 10s of thousands of those in the gym, it is now second nature to him to hit them. That is why he was the best ever, due to his work ethic. And this comes from someone who never supported the Bulls, and always supported the team against MJ… but the man is out of this world

Money still has it. I love the way he schools the young cat. I’m sure MJ would still be relevant today’s league. Impressive !

  • OneStep Posted: Aug.17 at 4:15 pm
He’s the G.O.A.T. He can dress however the hell he pleases. And I’m the same age as him so there’s some empathy there too!

  • Josh D Posted: Aug.17 at 4:22 pm
46!He’s nearly as old as my dad! That other guy was crazy to try and play 1 on 1 with MJ

  • Marco Posted: Aug.17 at 4:33 pm
What the f%&# is going on here!? Is this GQ or Slam online??? Who gives a sh*§ about Mike’s pants!…Just glad to see him ballin’! G.O.A.T.!

  • Z Posted: Aug.17 at 4:39 pm
”I bet you there is no nba player right now who can make 10 fade-aways in a row.” That’s a joke, right? I’ve seen Allan Houston not miss a single pull up for 5 minutes straight during pre-game shoot around at the ACC back in the days / You can be the GOAT and still look goofy. MJ is the only human being wearing baggy jeans TUCKED IN.

  • Allenp Posted: Aug.17 at 4:49 pm
You youngsters and your nut huggers.
Granted, MJ’s pants were too wide, but given the current style, I’d prefer that over catching a glimpse of D*ck print.

  • vmcb Posted: Aug.17 at 5:18 pm
I’d rather wear ‘nut huggers’ than dress like a clown. ps mj is great.

  • kwame Posted: Aug.17 at 5:44 pm
y are ppl talkin about his clothes…and his style…he started the baggy shorts trend that everyone still rocks…and he owns JORDAN BRAND…he has more money that any1 on here…so stop the hate…o…and he can still ball haha

  • bulletsforever Posted: Aug.17 at 6:13 pm
you idiots do realize that Jordan is responsible for the transition into longer NBA shorts, right? IMO you don’t have to dress like Kanye West to have style.

OMG, how can you complain about the jeans when the Man is doing his thing. What is wrong with them anyway? Have you seen what these kids are wearing today? Their jeans hang off their butts so much they can barely walk. I think we should just appreciate the video and move on.

  • James aka... Posted: Aug.17 at 7:39 pm
I personally like the jeans, but just because he’s rich doesn’t mean he can’t look like a fool in something. Donald Trump is way richer than Mike, does that mean his hair looks good?

  • cp Posted: Aug.17 at 10:36 pm
who cares about what jeans jordan is wearin. not like u wanna see everyone wearin skinny jeans and girl pants

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.17 at 11:06 pm
    Ben, you tease.

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.17 at 11:11 pm
Gotta add that the aura of greatness around MJ has not diminished one bit amongst ballers worldwide. Any footage of him playing generates reactions. Crazy! I mean, would any of us gape in awe at Dominique dunking now, or clyde? MJ does a standing two handed reverse THEN schools some fool, while flapping his gums like only he (and GP) could and it’s pandemonium. Love it.

  • b0dj Posted: Aug.17 at 11:11 pm
    MJ is simply timeless!!!

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.17 at 11:15 pm
You still can’t stop that fadeaway. Man that move is smooth.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.17 at 11:16 pm
    LMFAO @ Allenp.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.17 at 11:18 pm
And since when does Kanye West have style? If you count white sunglasses, skinny jeans, and man-purses style, well…

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.17 at 11:20 pm
Nut huggers. Gotta add that to the slamonline dictionary i’ve been compiling over the years. Some true gems in there like Anti-Mike, LeBronze and CARTOON (note: only valid if in capitals).

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.17 at 11:20 pm
Jordan to the Knicks with LeBron and Wade in 2010! Spread the rumor!!

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.17 at 11:24 pm
Teddy’s right. Shouting Louis Vuitton Don etc on every 2nd track does not make a fashionista… Just portrays one as a needy, attention whore with self confidence issues. Oh wait, we ARE talking Kanye West, sooooo..,

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 1:32 am
@Dacre: good one, man. But i do regularly make that baseline fadeaway in games, copied it from MJ (of course) back in the mid 90′s. just hope i can even jump at 46, never mind reverse dunks.

By the way Dark, I’m also into T-Shirt design. I’ve already conformed an Anti-Mike shirt… Complete with Kobe celebrating his victory with Mike’s pattened “Pressed lips and clenched fist in the air” expression. Bizzaro-Bulls Jersey included.

  • riggs Posted: Aug.18 at 8:48 am
real men dont wear skinny jeans, GTFO.

  • COLT6 Posted: Aug.18 at 8:56 am
First of all, WTF on the jeans?! Basketball is what you all should talk about. And when you do real talk on Slam it better be about Basketball and MJ, the greatest ever. S we begin… On both their primes,
Mj would own Kobe Bryant one-on-one anywhere, anytime.I stopped hatin on Kobe since this year’s championship but he is still just a pure copycat of His Airness, watch Kobe’s moves and mannerisms (and oh that jumpshot) on an off court and you will see that he took em from
MJ. Seriously, Kobe and his 81 points, are just pure imitation. MIKE WAS THAT GOOD. As a player you wonder how it is possible for a man to play god-like. Notice the number 23 and all numbers pertainin to him. They make you wonder if he actually sold his soul to the Devil. Discuss…

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 9:10 am
Dacre, just know that you have a customer in me if that Shirt ever gets made. U gotta give Teddy credit for coming up with the name (at least here on slamonline) though

  • CSP8 Posted: Aug.18 at 9:13 am
LOL “Which side you want the left or the right?…..GOT HIM”

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 9:14 am
Umm, I’m so not in the Kob’s camp, but MJ never scored 81 on mostly jumpers & FT’s (or 63 in 3 quarters against Dallas a few games before that, for that matter). Those are astonishing accomplishments for the Anti Mike. No diminishing that.

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 9:17 am
Damn, sorry spaceship. Got all my names mixed up earlier. Of course “Anti Mike” is your title to mass produce. Sorry about the mistake

  • Eboy Posted: Aug.18 at 10:40 am
Yeah man, thanks…..and while I was gone, the Heat made the major off-season move of acquiring Q-Rich!!!!! What a deal!!!!!!!!! *sarcasm ends*

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Aug.18 at 11:21 am
    Q-Rich. Yuck.

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 11:24 am
Wait till they grab iverson. He’s making a major twitter push all day today to get a team to sign him, mentioned the Heat amongst others. Kinda like the reverse paula abdul.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Aug.18 at 12:02 pm
Oh, and thank you Dark, the design is almost done. I’m trying to decide if I should go with the pasty-white Bizzaro skin for Kobe.

  • chingy Posted: Aug.18 at 12:57 pm
I’m sure if MJ wanted 81, he could have gotten 81

  • Waylonakolipse Posted: Aug.18 at 1:36 pm
Jordan is still a baller. The Greatest of All Time is still the best player in the world over 42. And to Darksaber…Kobe never hung 63 on a team that had 5 hall of famers like Mike did the Celtics. Bird, McHale, Parish, Johnson, and Walton not to mention Ainge. Who was on the Raptors that year?

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.18 at 2:17 pm
    KNICKS SIGN IVERSON.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Aug.18 at 2:18 pm
I think Money could have dropped 85 in some games. Dude just couldn’t be stopped. But he never did, so we’ll never know.
    “Jordan…yes. Here’s Jordan… yes. Jordan… AGAIN!”- Marv Albert.

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Aug.18 at 5:35 pm
If Jordan scores on someone at his advanced age, it’s “look, he’s so good at 46 years old!” but if someone blocks Jordan in his old age, it’s “great job blocking a 40 year old, you should be real proud of yourself”.

  • CDef28 Posted: Aug.18 at 8:12 pm
Z I’ve got an even better story. Game 4 of the Pistons-Magic series in 2003. Ben Wallace made 9 straight threes in the left corner in pregame. I can’t make this up. The Pistons lost, went down 3-1 and still came back to win the series. Had to throw that one out there. So RedRum, the MJ video is nice but you are under-estimating the rest of the L.

  • Darksaber Posted: Aug.18 at 8:55 pm
Damn, spaceship you are hilarious. Why not make multiple editions. One with the retro bulls jersey, one with bizarro skin and speech bubble (“me is better than Mike, not copy all moves) etc. ?

  • Chris Young Posted: Aug.18 at 10:33 pm
What’s up Slamonline. This is Chris Young aka Ghetto Bird. The video has gotten cool buzz out there. So I thought I would introduce myself. Yes,I do play Slamball and it’s been a blast being apart of the league. My athletic background is basketball and Track & Field. So Jordan isn’t playing against a guy who doesn’t hoop. I’m also a well known baller out of Los Angeles. I was picked in Slam magazine ” Street ball” 1st issue. As one of the top 100 ball player in the last 10 years. Currently I’m a assistant coach at Leuzinger high. And has played a solid role in the development of 2 former players. Who are now currently in the NBA. And a host of D1 players that have played for us over the years. If you guys want to know more about the 1 on 1 game or any other questions. Feel free to hit me up at twitter.com/gbird5 or Facebook.com/gbird5
