Video: Nick Young & JaVale McGee Holdin’ It Down @ Drew League

In the past Dennis Johnson, Paul Pierce, Baron Davis all came to south central L.A. to compete at The Drew. These two young ‘D’ leaguers are trying to add their names to that list of All-Star talent. Which player will have his breakout campaign in ’09-10? Why not both of them?

Nick Young’s game is so effing butter. JaVale looked good, but he’s WAY bigger and longer than than anyone out there, so I’m still not convinced he’s ready to be a starting NBA player. Nick Young is legit, but he’s gonna lose playing time to Miller and Foye, right?
Anthony Randolph is definitely my pick for most likely to blow up this season. Monster in the summer league, and yeah I know, summer league is different, but this guy looks like the next KG some times out there. Actually, he really looks and, in some ways, plays like is an enormous Monta Ellis. Rumors have him dominating “Muscle Watch”TM and growing two full inches since the start of last season, making him a legit 7′. Nellie seems to have figured out what he’s got he’s gonna let him run wild as long as he plays hard.

Nick Young needs to be traded to a team where he can get playing time. I hear Denver is lacking some Shooting Guards :P

Nick Young is nasty. JaVale McGee looks like a highschooler playing against elementary school kids. Dude is huge.

The talent difference between cats in the League and your average nice cats is freaking amazing, even if these were highlights.
The gap is like the Grand Canyon.

Well a lot of those are against D-1 players, and soon to be pro players.. oh and for the record, Nick Young & McGee’s team lost that game.

it’S always tricky to show only the makes. nice highlights but nick could have gone 7-25 fg (not saying that he did)

that being said, both of them will prob have decent careers

Actually, dominating in the Summer League is rarely a good sign.

actually the drew league is a pro am. It consists of many nba players (baron davis, james harden, nick young, javale mcgee, trevor ariza to name a few) to go along with mainly former college players, overseas players and local legends. This is basically the ebc of the westcoast. It’s no a weak league in any sense of the way so don’t think its little youngsters he’s playing against. Many of the players are older than young.
